New Zealand Food Industry Sdn Bhd (NZFI) is a privately‐owned, self funded food manufacturing plant located in Semenyih, Selangor, Malaysia. It was founded in 1972 with just basic machineries, growing into a small confectionary, and now supplies to major wholesale hypermarkets and retailers. NZFI prides itself on its dynamic environment that never settles with the status quo by constantly developing knowledge and skills as well as keeping up with the industry’s technical advancements.
“Thawed, proofed & baked” is a process NZFI uses to reduce manpower and wastage as it does not require a skilled person to create quality goods. This is especially useful for chain stores and hypermarkets as it ensures that customers get their favourite baked goods in the most efficient way.
Jimmy Foo, our current Managing Director, was raised in a family of bakers, before taking over New Zealand Food Industry Sdn Bhd (NZFI) in 2007, he was travelling back and forth from Vietnam and Malaysia working for a listed company also in the food manufacturing business.
He has spearheaded the evolution of NZFI towards a company that caters customized products for clients both locally and internationally. Since taking over, he has introduced many new products and slowly diversified the company from a small retail bakery into doing mass production and supply. The company has also maintained its relationships with many of its key clients and this remains as one of the company’s strengths.
Under Jimmy’s leadership, NZFI will continue to innovate new products by developing unique styles, thus creating personalized products for every client. In the coming years, he also plans to expand to a new factories and establish more relationships to grow in various markets.
